Community is Crucial for our well-being!

We need love to thrive.  It’s a basic need.  Both Science and the Bible tells us this.

In 1944 an experiment was conducted. 40 newborns were divided into two groups. Both groups had all of their physiological needs met but in one of the groups, the nurses were instructed not to give them any affection at all, whereas the other group were given affection.

They had to stop the experiment after 4 months because half of the babies in the “no affection” group died. Just died. They weren’t ill, their nutritional needs were being meticulously met and yet they died anyway. It was said that the babies became expressionless before they passed away. Reminds me of this masked, expressionless society. None of the babies in the affection group died.

Here are the verses I referred to for you to further consider!

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body. Prov. 16:24

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:6
